Calibrations & reference materials
A calibration by VSL implies a direct comparison to a primary measurement standard. The chain between the primary standard and your equipment is as direct as possible when having your equipment calibrated at VSL. This ensures the lowest possible measurement uncertainty. VSL operates in the centre of the international metrological infrastructure. Our certificates are widely recognised via the CIPM Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA).

Apart from calibrations, VSL offers reference materials for gas analysis, viscosity and mineral oil.

Contract research & consultancy
Be it high quality services or reliable products, at some point measurements must be made or a technical infrastructure for measurement has to be developed. If you do not have the right expertise in-house, or if you need the opinion of an independent expert, VSL helps you gain a clear insight into your problems and to translate them into metrological solutions. VSL also advises public bodies in drawing up policy based on reliable and independent information, or in preparing new standards for emerging issues that require unambiguity and continuity.

Interlaboratory comparisons
Laboratories invest a significant amount of time in internal controls of instruments, procedures and skills. It is, however, also important to frequently compare measurement capacities with those of other laboratories. Participation in inter-laboratory comparisons is a key criterion for laboratory accreditation. It is mainly an investment in reliability, operational certainty and self-confidence levels of employees. VSL offers a wide range of inter-laboratory comparisons and proficiency tests.

Courses & training
Technology, legislation and (measurement) standards develop and evolve rapidly. To allow your employees to stay up to date, VSL provides a full range of courses and training in metrology. Our training portfolio is aimed at gaining knowledge and insight. Practical exercises to train skills and to apply new insights are a key part of every course.
