VSL underpins its services where possible by participating in key comparisons. It also organises and coordinates key comparisons on request of the Gas Analysis Working Group of the Consultative Committee for Amount of Substance: Metrology in Chemistry and Biology (CCQM-GAWG). Recently coordinated key comparisons include CCQM-K112 Biogas, CCQM-K117 Ammoniak in stikstof and CCQM-K118 Aardgas. All reports of key comparisons are available in the Metrologia Technical Supplement.
Calibration and Measurement Capabilities (CMCs) relate to performing calibrations (of monitors, gas mixtures), and the preparation and certification of certified or primary reference materials. Not all of VSL’s services can be underpinned directly or indirectly by participating in key comparisons. In those instances, VSL supports its CMCs by other means. Below is an overview given of such evidence, per group of services.
