Interlaboratory Comparison of SI‑Traceable CO₂ Flow Meter Calibration

VSL, in collaboration with international metrology institutes and industrial partners, has carried out an interlaboratory comparison on the calibration of gaseous carbon dioxide (CO₂) flow meters. The study supports reliable and SI‑traceable CO₂ flow measurements, which are essential for carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) applications.

The comparison involved intermediate‑ and large‑scale calibration facilities from VSL, NEL, INRIM, DNV and FORCE Technology, covering flow rates up to 400 m³/h and pressures up to 31 bar(a). The results demonstrate good agreement between the facilities and confirm the traceability of CO₂ flow meter calibrations to international measurement standards.

De publicatie levert een belangrijke bijdrage aan de ontwikkeling van betrouwbare CO₂‑flowkalibratie voor industriële en regelgevende toepassingen binnen CCUS.
