VSL listed as suggestion in the EORTC Beam Output Audit overview
VSL has been added as a suggested provider on the EORTC website for Beam Output Audits (BOA). This acknowledgement highlights VSL’s strong international reputation in conducting high‑quality dosimetry audits and delivering reliable Postal Beam Output Audits (BOA) for Radiotherapy. The EORTC refers to audits traceable to internationally accepted primary standards, such as the VSL water calorimeter.
The Postal Beam Output Audit (BOA) is a specialised dosimetry audit enabling radiotherapy centres to independently verify their absorbed dose to water (Dw) at 10 cm depth in clinical MV photon beams, in line with protocols including NCS‑18 and IAEA TRS‑398.
Through this audit, centres gain:
- objective insight into their dosimetric performance,
- support in meeting ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements,
- strengthened quality and risk management,
- the ability to anonymously benchmark results.
VSL manages logistics end‑to‑end, providing a PMMA phantom containing radiochromic films and analysing these upon return. The audit offers an expected measurement uncertainty of approximately 4% (k = 2) and can be tailored to the participant’s selected photon beams.
Being listed by EORTC further strengthens VSL’s role as a trusted international provider of high‑quality dosimetry audits in radiotherapy.
