Viscosity plays an important role in the food, paint, pharmaceutical and chemical industry where viscometers are often used for quality and process control. To support the calibration of these viscometers, VSL offers a certification service to ensure traceability of the viscosity liquids to the national standard of doubly distilled water.

These Certified Reference Materials (CRM's) can be used as in-house reference materials or can be re-selled to end-users. The analysis is fully traceable to national standards and the certification facility is accredited by the Dutch Council for Accreditation (RvA) to comply with ISO/IEC 17025.

The stability of the viscosity liquids is guaranteed for one year, provided the liquid is stored in the dark, closed and at a temperature between 10 ºC and 35 ºC.

In the following table an overview is given of the certified viscosity liquids in stock, the nominal viscosity values at 20 ºC and the relative uncertainties. In addition we can certify viscosity liquids at other temperatures between 15 ºC and 140 ºC or certify specially made viscosity liquids.
