Service provision
Energy is becoming an increasingly expensive product in an increasingly liberalised energy market. These developments are accompanied by the fact that it is becoming continually more important to accurately determine the (electrical) energy transferred between the various parties (from energy producers, network managers, local authorities, industrial large-scale users to individual households), at both the national and the global level. VSL responds to this by developing standards and knowledge that helps these parties to reliably and traceably measure and trade of energy.

Working method
At VSL, contract research and consultancy start with a structured approach. The first step is to explore the issue. What is the starting point, what is the desired situation and how can we get there? An exploratory meeting with one of the experts of Customized Applied Metrology can provide clarity.

Customers
In the electrical energy sector, VSL focuses among others on transformer manufacturers, producers of capacity measuring equipment, energy companies and network managers of national and regional electricity networks and substations.

Courses
Annually, VSL produces more than 15 peer reviewed papers in the area of applied metrology, and many other publications. Much of the knowledge in these publications is included in the course material. The courses can be given at VSL or on site.
